A Fictive Fairy Tale
Yeah, I don’t even know with this… But I’m pretty sure it’s Cherie’s fault.Once upon a time in a land far away, there were two neighboring kingdoms.
In one dwelt a princess, bright and laughing. It was said that her smile outshone the golden radiance of the sun. She delighted in spreading joy and was known by all as the Princess of Fluff.
The other was ruled by an evil queen, a woman of great power. Her beauty was like the silvery radiance of the moon, wreathed in the dark mysteries of the night. Little was known about the circumstances that had led to her being called evil, but none wished to risk finding out the extent of her dark power by incurring her displeasure. It was rumored that the queen was sustained by the tears obtained in secret by the head of her royal guard, a heartless woman who delighted in this work.
Hearing tales of the queen’s misfortune, deprived of joy and kept on a diet of bitter tears, the princess vowed to bring mirth into the neighboring kingdom. She embarked on a perilous quest to discover the source from which the guard obtained the tears she fed to the queen. If the princess could discover the guard’s secrets, perhaps she could find a way to restore a balance of joy to the evil queen.
But, of course, the task was not nearly so simple as that.

I don’t think we are enemies. I think you are trying to save me. And if anyone is killing people, it’s Aphreal. (She has to be the Royal Guard.) But I don’t think she’s killing people, because dead people don’t cry. Maybe she’s torturing them, though. Or just seeking out misery and collecting the tears.
